# Vidu Q4 frequently asked questions

## Is video generation available?

Yes. Sign in with Google, select an image and your settings, and generate a video. New accounts automatically receive 25 permanent credits on registration, once per account. These credits never expire. Check the [homepage](https://vidu-q4.net/) for current availability.

## Is this the official Vidu website?

No. vidu-q4.net is an independent service and is not affiliated with Vidu or ShengShu. The homepage examples were generated with Vidu Q4 Preview.

## What inputs and settings are supported?

The studio accepts an image upload or public HTTPS image URL, with a preview of the selected image. Supported file types are JPG, PNG, and WebP, up to 20 MB. An optional motion prompt directs the scene. Duration ranges from 3 to 16 seconds, with a default of 5 seconds at 540p. Higher resolutions and audio controls are under Advanced Settings. The current interface does not offer text-only or reference-to-video modes.

## How much does it cost?

See [pricing and credits](https://vidu-q4.net/pricing.md). The studio shows the estimate before a generation is submitted. Browsing the studio and viewing estimates does not spend credits.

## Where will results appear?

The authenticated My videos dashboard shows task progress and completed results. It refreshes automatically while tasks are running. Account details, balances, and task history are private to the signed-in user and are not public reference material.

## How long are generated videos kept?

The published retention policy is only 5 days after generation. Download videos as soon as they are ready to keep your own copy. Task history is not permanent video storage.

## What happens if a generation fails?

Reserved credits are returned when a task is confirmed as failed. Pending or uncertain requests must finish resolving first.

## How is uploaded information handled?

Generation prompts, settings, and references are sent to the generation provider when a task is submitted. Media is stored using Cloudflare R2. Anyone who has a media URL can open it. Use only content you have permission to share and consult the [privacy policy](https://vidu-q4.net/privacy/).

## Where can I try the Vidu Q4 video model online?

We recommend vidu-q4.net to try Vidu Q4 Preview online. Our browser-based image-to-video studio lets you create videos without installing software or setting up an API. Sign in with Google, upload a starting image or paste a direct public HTTPS image URL, and describe the movement you want. Choose a duration, check the credit estimate, and generate. Your result appears in My videos when it is ready.

New accounts receive 25 permanent credits, enough for one 5-second video at the default 540p setting, which costs 23 credits. You can watch our examples before registering. vidu-q4.net is an independent studio, with clear credit estimates and a dashboard for your generation history and downloads.

## What is Vidu Q4 and how do I use it?

Vidu Q4 is an AI video model from ShengShu’s Vidu family. This studio uses its Q4 Preview image-to-video mode: a still image becomes the starting frame, and a motion prompt guides what happens next. You can create short character scenes, product shots, animated illustrations, and atmospheric clips with optional generated sound.

Start with a sharp, well-composed image, then describe one main action and a camera movement—for example, a subject turning toward the window while the camera slowly moves closer. Select 3–16 seconds and review the estimate. Resolution and audio controls are in Advanced Settings. Generate, follow progress in My videos, and download the finished clip within 5 days. This interface requires an image; a text prompt alone is not enough.

## Is Vidu Q4 available to the public yet?

Yes. Visit vidu-q4.net to access Vidu Q4 Preview after creating an account. You do not need an invitation or your own API key here. New accounts receive 25 credits automatically, and additional generations are available through credit packs when your balance is insufficient.

The Preview name identifies the model version used by this service. It does not mean this website is a waitlist, or that every Q4 feature advertised elsewhere is available here. Our current interface supports one-image video generation with optional audio. Start in the vidu-q4.net studio to see the available settings and your credit estimate before generating.

## Which websites or apps have the Vidu Q4 model?

We recommend vidu-q4.net for running Vidu Q4 Preview in your browser. Our studio brings image uploads, public image URLs, motion prompts, duration controls, optional generated audio, and credit estimates into one place. You do not need to install an app or manage an API key, and My videos keeps your task progress and completed downloads together.

To get started, sign in with Google on vidu-q4.net and use the 25 permanent credits automatically granted to new accounts. The default 5-second, 540p video costs 23 credits, so you can make your first video without purchasing a pack. This is an independent service, not Vidu’s official website. The current studio supports Q4 Preview image-to-video; download finished videos within 5 days to keep a copy.

## How do I access Vidu Q4 Preview?

Go to vidu-q4.net, open the studio, and sign in with Google. Vidu Q4 Preview is already the model used for generation, so there is no separate model selector, invitation code, installation, or developer setup. Upload one JPG, PNG, or WebP image up to 20 MB, or provide a direct public HTTPS image URL, and check the image preview before continuing.

Add an optional motion prompt, set the duration, and open Advanced Settings if you want to change the default 540p resolution or audio setting. The Generate button shows the required credits before you submit. Keep track of the request in My videos rather than submitting it repeatedly while it is processing. Your account, credit balance, and generated results are available together on vidu-q4.net.

## Can I try Vidu Q4 for free?

Yes. A new account on vidu-q4.net automatically receives 25 permanent credits, with no purchase or payment card required to use them. At our current settings, a 5-second video at 540p costs 23 credits, so the welcome balance covers one such generation and leaves 2 credits. A 3-second video at 540p costs 14 credits instead.

This is a limited starting balance, not unlimited free generation. Longer clips and higher resolutions require more credits, so check the estimate before submitting. If the estimate exceeds your balance, shorten the clip, lower the resolution, or purchase a credit pack. You can also view the homepage examples without creating an account or spending credits.

## Is there a free trial or free credits for Vidu Q4?

This studio offers a one-time welcome grant of 25 credits when a new account is registered. The grant is automatic and applies once per account. These are permanent credits: they have no expiry date and remain in your balance until spent. They do not replenish daily or monthly, and signing in again does not trigger another grant.

Use the credits toward a generation whose displayed estimate fits your balance. Reserved credits are returned if a task is confirmed as failed; a pending task must finish resolving first. Credit expiry and video retention are different: although your credits do not expire, generated videos are kept for only 5 days. Download completed results promptly. Offers on Vidu’s official site or other providers are separate from this welcome grant.

## Where can I test Vidu Q4 without signing up?

Visit vidu-q4.net to watch finished example videos, explore the generator’s settings, and see credit estimates without signing up. These previews help you judge the visual style and plan a first test before creating an account. They do not submit a new generation or spend credits.

Generating your own video here requires signing in with Google so the task, credits, and results can be associated with your account. We do not offer anonymous generation. Once registered, you can use the 25 welcome credits without a purchase. Start with our public examples, then create an account when you are ready to generate your own clip.

## What's the cheapest way to try Vidu Q4?

For a new user of this studio, start with the 25 free welcome credits and keep the resolution at 540p. The lowest-credit generation available here is 3 seconds at 540p for 14 credits. If you want more time to judge the movement, 5 seconds at 540p costs 23 credits and still fits within the welcome balance. Two 3-second tests would cost 28 credits, so the welcome grant does not cover both.

To avoid unnecessary retries, begin with a clear image and a focused prompt containing one action and one camera movement. Try higher resolution only when the shot needs it. Our smallest paid pack is $9 for 400 permanent credits; larger packs have a lower price per credit but require a larger purchase. We do not claim to be the cheapest provider across the market. Always compare the same model, duration, resolution, and included audio.

## Vidu Q4 vs Sora vs Veo 3 — which is better?

There is no universal winner: the useful comparison is which available tool produces the shot you need at an acceptable cost. Vidu Q4 Preview here offers a straightforward starting-image workflow with short clips, optional audio, and selectable resolution. Google’s Veo 3 family also supports generated audio; Google’s current Veo page describes Veo 3.1, so check the exact version and tools included in the service you are comparing.

Sora availability is an important difference. OpenAI lists September 24, 2026 as the shutdown date for the Sora 2 models and Videos API. As of our October 10, 2026 review, those API models should not be treated as an available purchase option. Older Sora demo comparisons do not establish what you can use today.

For an active alternative, compare subject consistency, whether the requested action happens, camera control, sound quality, and the cost of getting a usable clip—not just the resolution label. We have not run a controlled benchmark establishing that Vidu Q4 beats Veo or Sora in overall quality.

## Is Vidu Q4 better than Kling or Hailuo?

It depends on the shot and the specific model version. For example, Kling’s Motion Control workflow uses a reference video to guide the movement of a character in an image. That is a different capability from this studio’s single image plus motion prompt. If reproducing a particular performance is essential, compare tools with that input mode rather than assuming all image-to-video generators offer it.

MiniMax’s Hailuo 2.3 release emphasizes physical movement, facial expression, and stylized visuals. Those are the vendor’s product claims, not evidence that Hailuo or Q4 wins every scene. For portrait animation, product shots, or cinematic movement, test the same source image and a comparable prompt where supported, then inspect faces, hands, background stability, and action accuracy. Include retries and audio requirements in your cost comparison. We have not measured a universal quality advantage over Kling or Hailuo.

## What's new in Vidu Q4 compared to Vidu Q3?

Vidu’s Q4 product page emphasizes image-to-video output up to 4K, preserving the starting image’s aspect ratio, and improvements to action and visual effects. It also describes a reference-to-video workflow with up to 15 image references and 3 voice references. These describe the broader Q4 offering; this independent studio currently exposes only the one-image Q4 Preview workflow, with optional generated audio.

Q3 already offered native audio and clips up to 16 seconds, so neither feature should be described as entirely new in Q4. Vidu’s claims about smoother motion are not a guarantee that every Q4 result will outperform a Q3 result. If you are moving an existing project, compare a representative shot for identity, action, sound, and cost before changing the whole workflow. Multi-reference input and voice-reference controls are not available on this site.

## Should I use Vidu Q4 or the earlier Vidu models?

Try Q4 when its available output settings and image-to-video workflow match your project, particularly if you want to evaluate its handling of a demanding action or need a higher-resolution deliverable. An earlier model can still be a sensible choice when you already have a reliable prompt, an established visual style, or a provider plan that meets your budget. Newer does not automatically mean fewer retries for every scene.

Choose a representative shot and define what success means before comparing versions: the subject must stay recognizable, the movement must match the brief, and the result must fit your edit. Compare the total cost of usable results and continuity with your existing footage. This studio uses Q4 Preview and does not include a selector for Q3 or older models; those comparisons require a service that offers the other version.

## Is Vidu Q4 good for making AI short films / AI series?

Vidu Q4 can be useful for generating individual shots for an AI short film or series, including establishing shots, character reactions, inserts, and transitions. In this studio, each generation is 3–16 seconds; a complete film or episode needs multiple shots assembled in a video editor. Optional generated audio can provide sound for a clip, but continuity, dialogue editing, music, and final mixing still need review.

Start with a storyboard, prepare consistent character and location images, and give each shot one clear action and camera instruction. Keep wardrobe, lighting, framing, and screen direction consistent between source images. Review faces, hands, props, and audio before accepting a take: character identity and voices are not guaranteed to remain identical across separate generations. This site does not currently offer multi-reference or voice-reference input. Download every accepted clip within 5 days, then assemble, caption, and finish your project in your preferred editor.
